MFA’s paid summer internships are designed to challenge, educate and inspire college students pursuing careers in agriculture, business, communications and related fields.
Students are paired with a summer mentor who directs, challenges and teaches them about our company and their area of the business. Each mentor also outlines a summer-long project for their student to complete and present at the conclusion of the summer. To be eligible, applicants must be working toward a bachelor’s degree at an accredited college or university, be a full-time student in good standing with a grade point average above 2.75 and have completed their sophomore year of college. Application period is Sept. 1 through Nov. 1 each year.
The Agri Services Internship Program is a unique opportunity designed for two-year agriculture degree-seeking students eager to gain hands-on experience in the agricultural services industry. This program is meticulously crafted to provide a comprehensive understanding of various roles within the company, ensuring that interns not only learn about the industry but also develop essential skills that will set them apart in their future careers. Applications open Sept. 1.

MFA actively recruits for all of our internship programs through college career fairs each fall. Below is this year's schedules! We hope to visit with you there.
Emma Steele of Novinger, Mo., worked this past summer as the Communications Department intern. She is a student at the University of Missouri studying agricultural education, communications, and leadership. During her internship, Emma gained hands-on skills with photography, videography, writing, editing and digital communications and contributed to the Today's Farmer magazine. Emma said, “I chose to spend my summer with MFA because I'd always heard really great things about their Ag experience internship program, and also because the people within the company remind me of the people at home that inspired my love for agriculture.”
Judd Harms spent the summer of 2025 as an agronomy sales intern for MFA. In this role, he worked with his mentor analyzing how crops are performing so he could help to make informed suggestions to customers about products they should be using on their fields. Judd is from Cole Camp, Mo., and attends Northwest Missouri State in Maryville, studying agriculture science. He said he wanted to intern with MFA to “broaden my knowledge about agriculture, especially in agronomic sales. MFA is a great company to work for and they're very supportive of the farmers.”
Throughout the summer, the students will gain valuable, hands-on experience within the industry and collaborate with MFA and its members. Overall, the goal is for interns to apply their knowledge and skills to a real-world setting.
Yes, paid! We realize many internships are not, but MFA values the time and energy that our Ag Experience, Agri Services and Crop-Trak participants put into their summer job.
Each intern is paired with an MFA mentor who helps create a customized internship geared toward the student’s interests and career objectives.
Not only do program participants network with MFA management, employees and fellow interns, but they also have several opportunities to make connections throughout the agricultural industry internship.
