Complete feeds
Complete feeds provide a diet with all the nutrients required for the life cycle of the livestock, not including pasture/forage/hay. MFA recommends the addition of feeding some sort of long-stem value product in addition to the complete feed.
Cattle Charge is a mineral- and vitamin-fortified, balanced feed designed for growing cattle and weaning stressed calves. Its nutrient-dense formulation has excellent palatability but is not loaded with starch, so it is easy on the rumen.
Because it covers a wide range of applications, Cattle Charge can be used as a general cattle feed, weaning feed or creep feed. Expect good feed-to-gain ratios and average daily gain when feeding Cattle Charge. It can be a means of delivering feed additives such as ionophores, fly control products, etc. We see better animal performance and product consistency when using a manufactured feed such as Cattle Charge rather than commodity ingredients (corn, DDGs, soyhulls, rice bran, etc.).
The pelleted version of this feed is most widely used, but it is also available in meal form. Cattle Charge is available with several medicated options, including ionophores Rumensin and Bovatec, as well as a CTC-sulfa option that requires a VFD. Cattle Charge also is available with Shield Technology. Make sure ionophores are not consumed by equine.

Salt Mixes
Salt mixes can be used to regulate feed intake. These are good tools for reducing labor costs in a cattle operation. Keep in mind, salt is not a precise regulator of intake because some individual animals have a greater tolerance for salt.
