Youth Programs

An investment in agricultural education is truly an investment in the future.

MFA is committed to cultivating the next crop of farm leaders by supporting 4-H, FFA and other educational activities that encourage youth participation in agriculture.

Empowering youth to achieve their educational goals

The MFA Foundation sows seeds of progress

As agriculture evolves, so, too, must the education and training that supports the industry. The MFA Foundation positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success. Founded in 1958, the Foundation is a collaboration among MFA Incorporated, MFA Oil Company and retail locations of both organizations. At the heart of its mission is the Foundation’s scholarship program, which annually awards financial assistance to hundreds of high school seniors to pursue studies and develop careers that enhance the future of rural America. The Foundation’s philanthropy doesn’t stop there. Other investments that align with its core mission include support for Missouri 4-H, FFA and Young Farmers Associations — donations to colleges and universities — special scholarship initiatives — and significant contributions to events and causes that reinforce our commitment to shaping tomorrow’s leaders.

Bring home a win, win again!

MFA Project Premium Program

Raising livestock projects means early mornings, late nights and long hours, but it also teaches life skills and valuable lessons that will set young people up for success in the future. That’s why MFA takes pride in rewarding agricultural youth who work hard and achieve success with their show animals through our Project Premium Program. Special incentives are available for using MFA feeds with your show animals. Bring home a win in the show ring, and you’ll win again with financial rewards from MFA’s Feed Division and your local MFA feed supplier.

Project premiums are $50 for a steer, beef heifer or dairy heifer and $20 for a market hog, market lamb, goat or bucket calf. To participate, animals must be fed a qualifying MFA feed product from weigh-in, and it must be fed at recommended amounts throughout the project. The animal’s initial weight, ending weight and other information must be verified by the group leader and submitted to your local MFA feed supplier.

This program is designed to help 4-H and FFA members not only through a little extra cash, but also by giving them a more involved experience with their project, resulting in a sense of pride, responsibility and financial investment.

Livestock exhibitors who are interested in the program should visit their local MFA store to sign the paperwork required to get the premium and see what it has to offer. Forms and guidelines can also be downloaded here:
