Gold Advantage Seed Treatments

Unlock more available nitrogen for top soybean performance and boost yields.

Three new ways to boost your yield

Nitrogen is the most overlooked nutrient in soybean production. Soybeans must take in 5.5 pounds of nitrogen for every bushel of yield, nearly four times what corn requires. That means a 60-bushel soybean crop requires around 330 pounds of nitrogen. One of the biggest misconceptions is that the soybean plant’s natural nitrogen-fixing inoculum is sufficient to meet these needs. It is not.

MFA’s Gold Advantage Seed Treatment System provides the potential to unlock more available nitrogen and boost yields by promoting earlier, more robust and longer-lasting soybean nodules that feed the plant for top performance. This is done in three ways.

First, Gold Advantage delivers more advanced inoculum strains than the soybean plant’s native Bradyrhizobia, the organism that creates nodules and produces nitrogen. Coating the seed ensures populations are sufficient to colonize the root system.

Second, the treatments introduce a compound produced by soybeans to signal the need for nodulation before the plant can produce the signal compound itself. This leads to earlier nodule formation.

Third, the system adds essential micronutrients that feed rhizobia in close proximity and availability to soybean seedling roots. This encourages strong establishment and growth right from the start.

Contains essential micronutrients, soybean flow aid and lipochitooligosaccharides (LCO) signal compound for earlier, more productive and longer-lasting nodule production.

Contains advanced strains of Bradyrhizobia bacteria and the LCO signal compound for earlier, more productive and longer-lasting nodule production.

Combines the components and benefits of both Micro and Rhizo in one complete system:

  • Essential micronutrients, soybean flow aid and lipochitooligosaccharides (LCO) signal compound for earlier, more productive and longer-lasting nodule production.
  • Advanced strains of Bradyrhizobia bacteria and the LCO signal compound for earlier, more productive and longer-lasting nodule production.

Seed treatments help jumpstart crop success

As planting dates continue to get pushed earlier, quality seed treatments help give crops the strong establishment they need.

Before a seed is planted, growers face many decisions that impact a crop’s success and failure—variety selection, herbicide and fertility programs and grain marketing, to name a few. One decision often overlooked is seed treatment, which is a cost-effective way to protect crops from pests and diseases for increased yields and improved plant health.

For the 2025 season, MFA is introducing a new line of soybean seed treatments: Gold Advantage Micro, Gold Advantage Rhizo and Gold Advantage Boost. These products, which have been tested in MFA’s own research trials, are designed to unlock more available nitrogen, boost yields and feed plants for top performance.
