Applications now open for program targeting two-year college students
For college students pursuing careers in agriculture, classroom learning is only part of the equation. The other part comes from real-world experience—riding along in a spray rig, working behind a retail counter or scouting crops in the field.
That’s exactly the kind of opportunity MFA Incorporated plans to provide through its new Agri Services Internship Program, launching this fall for students working toward two-year agriculture degrees. Applications are now open for internships that will begin in May 2026.
This 12-week program will provide students with the chance to explore multiple career opportunities within MFA Agri Services locations, such as custom applicator, truck driver, counter sales, crop consultant and general laborer. Through a structured rotation schedule, interns will be paired with a mentor and spend dedicated time in each role to better understand how every position contributes to MFA’s overall mission, said Scott Morfeld, MFA Incorporated talent and development manager.
“We felt like two-year college students were a group we had missed through our current internship opportunities,” Morfeld said. “This new program will provide these students with practical experience at a grassroots level. The goal is to test their skills and see where their interests lie so when they graduate, we can help them smoothly transition to a rewarding career with MFA.”
Along with gaining technical knowledge, Agri Services interns will also focus on building soft skills such as communication, teamwork and customer service. Reflection and feedback are built into the program, ensuring that students can assess their strengths, recognize challenges and identify areas for further growth.
“This program is about more than just a summer job,” Morfeld said. “It’s a way for students to not only learn about the agricultural services industry but also develop essential skills that will set them apart in their future careers.”
Agri Services Internship positions will be filled by qualified candidates throughout the year, so Morfeld encourages interested students to apply sooner rather than later. This new program is in addition to MFA Incorporated’s existing Ag Experience and Crop-Trak internships, which are also now open for applications.
