Virtual Fence Symposium Thursday, June 25 Bradford Research Farm, University of Missouri, Columbia
Producers interested in emerging livestock technology for grazing management can learn more about virtual fencing at the 2026 Virtual Fence Symposium on Thursday, June 25, at the University of Missouri’s Bradford Research Farm near Columbia, Mo.
The day‑long event, scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., is geared toward livestock producers who want to explore how virtual fencing can support pasture management, improve efficiency and strengthen stewardship efforts. Space is limited, and advance registration is required by June 18.
The symposium’s agenda will combine producer perspectives, research insights and practical information from industry representatives, offering attendees a comprehensive look at how virtual fencing works in real‑world operations.
Sessions will cover the technical and economic aspects of virtual fencing, integrating the technology into existing grazing operations and cost-share funding for these systems. Virtual fencing companies will introduce their products, and two farmer panels will share firsthand experiences, lessons learned and practical considerations for adoption.
The day will conclude with an interactive discussion on future expansion and audience ideas for how virtual fencing could continue to evolve. After the formal program, an optional outdoor demonstration with virtual fence collars will give attendees a chance to see the technology in action.
A catered lunch will be provided for registered participants, who will also have an opportunity to visit one-on-one with vendors and speakers.
The symposium is free to attend, but registration is required. For more information and to register, visit cra.missouri.edu/event/virtual-fence-symposium.
