Gain for grain

SIX MILLION BUSHEL EXPANSION

MFA adds four Missouri elevators to its network, expanding storage, marketing access for members

MFA Incorporated is acquiring four Missouri grain facilities from ADM, strengthening the cooperative’s grain origination footprint and expanding market access for its member‑owners.

The transaction includes country elevators in Center, Montgomery City, Novelty and Shelbina, Mo., representing approximately 6 million bushels of licensed grain storage capacity. The facilities are in significant row-crop regions and will become part of MFA’s existing grain network upon closing.

With grain origination as one of the core services provided by MFA, these additions will expand access to delivery points and improve MFA’s grain handling logistics as well as bringing more growers the benefits available by marketing through a cooperative.

“As a cooperative, every capital decision we make is evaluated through the lens of member value,” said MFA President and CEO Bob Huffman. “This investment strengthens our grain system and reinforces MFA’s mission of being owned by farmers, for farmers.”

MFA intends to honor existing grain contracts at the acquired facilities, subject to customary reviews and applicable terms and conditions. Operations at each location are expected to continue as normal following the transition.

“These elevators fit well within MFA’s existing network and allow us to serve members by keeping grain moving efficiently and providing reliable, local delivery options,” said MFA Senior Director of Grain Operations Eric Williams. “We view this as a long‑term, member‑service investment that supports local agriculture and helps ensure these locations remain a grain-marketing option for growers in the region.”

The acquisition was approved by MFA’s Board of Directors and aligns with the cooperative’s long‑term strategic plan, which emphasizes disciplined investment in infrastructure that directly supports producers.

The transaction is expected to be completed in late summer 2026, subject to customary closing conditions and applicable due diligence review.
