4R Soil Health Field Day Wednesday, June 24 American Legion Hall, Blackburn
Producers who want to learn more about nutrient management, precision services, virtual fencing, automation and drone technology in agriculture are invited to MFA’s 4R Soil Health Field Day on Wednesday, June 24, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Topics will include on-farm success stories with MFA’s Nutri-Track program, nutrient management cost-share opportunities, integrating livestock into row-crop operations with virtual fence technology, and the latest advancements in artificial intelligence, robotics and drones in modern agriculture.
The morning’s sessions and lunch will be held inside the American Legion Hall in Blackburn, Mo. The afternoon agenda will include a tour of Hemme Brothers Farm and Creamery in nearby Sweet Springs, where participants will learn about the family’s conservation practices and diversification of farm income through their cheese-making venture.
The free event will feature MFA conservation and precision agronomy staff as well as industry partners, including University of Missouri’s Kaitlyn Dozler and Marcelo Barbosa and Lucas Brass of the Natural Resources Conservation Service.
