MFA Foundation Scholarship Program
Investing in education has been a cornerstone of MFA’s commitment to rural communities for nearly seven decades. As the MFA Foundation scholarship program continues to support students pursuing their academic and career goals, it is also entering a new chapter.
After this scholarship year, the MFA Foundation will serve as the education-focused foundation of MFA Incorporated and its local affiliates, awarding scholarships for eligible students connected to those organizations. At the same time, MFA Oil Company has moved its scholarship program under the MFA Oil Foundation, creating two distinct programs that allow each organization to focus its educational giving in ways that best serve its members, customers and communities.
While the structure is evolving, the mission remains the same: helping the next generation build successful futures through education. In 2026, 298 high school seniors received $2,500 scholarships through the MFA Foundation, totaling $745,000. Students can apply scholarship funds toward certificate, associate or bachelor’s degrees.
Established in 1958, the MFA Foundation is a nonprofit, philanthropic organization with the primary purpose of advancing educational opportunities for high school seniors in MFA’s trade territory. Since 1965, the Foundation has awarded nearly $19.5 million in scholarships to more than 16,500 students.
Future scholarship criteria will align with each foundation’s parent company, with details announced ahead of the next application cycle. For MFA Incorporated’s scholarship program, applications open in December and run until Feb. 15.
