MFA continues longtime support with sponsorships focused on youth activities
With the theme, “Step On In,” the Missouri State Fair returns Aug. 7-17 to the historic fairgrounds in Sedalia, offering a complete lineup of livestock shows, agricultural exhibits, concerts, vendors, carnival rides, plenty of food choices and much more.
As a “Purple Ribbon” sponsor, MFA Incorporated continues to support the state fair in many ways. Visitors can step out of the weather and inside the MFA building to talk with our experts and learn more about our whole-farm solutions. Look for our weekend booth across from the Beef House for more opportunities to interact with MFA personnel.
MFA displays at the fair will highlight the accomplishments of FFA members through their Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) projects, which are supported in part by funding from the MFA Charitable Foundation. Fair visitors can learn more about the important and interesting work FFA members are doing through these projects and how the MFA Charitable Foundation contributes to agricultural youth education, nonprofit organizations and community causes.
This year, MFA is also sponsoring the youth Pedal Pull, which takes place on Sunday, Aug. 17, with nine classes for contestants ages 4-12. In addition, MFA will be providing special giveaways to exhibitors who show livestock and those who reside in the youth dorms during the fair. Other traditional sponsorships will also continue, including the State 4-H Saddle Award and the 4-H Dog Show.
As a member of Missouri Farmers Care, MFA will once again be involved in this year’s Missouri FFA Day of Service on Tuesday, Aug. 12, when hundreds of FFA members will pack child-friendly meals that will be distributed to six food banks across the state. That day is also “$2 Tuesday,” which allows visitors to receive $2 admission to the fair with a $2 donation to MFC’s Drive to Feed Kids or a minimum of two nonperishable food items.
The Drive to Feed Kids activities at the fair continue Aug. 14 following the Ham Breakfast, with MFA representatives among the ag leaders, youth and elected officials who will pack more than 1,000 meal boxes for food-insecure families.
And throughout the fair, be sure to watch for the MFA-sponsored ice wagon, helping workers and visitors keep their cool.
