The Walker and Nevada MFA Agri Services teamed up last week to put on a show clinic for area 4-H and FFA students interested in or currently raising livestock projects. The clinic covered and focused on proper feeding of Beef and Swine projects. Attendees came in from three local 4-H projects and two FFA chapters.
Speakers included Walker MFA manager Dusty Moses, Joe Snedden of Team Ralco Swine, MFA Feed Area Sales Manager Jon Roberts and Nick Moses.
“This is our first time hosting this type of meeting and we had 75 people show up,” said Dusty Moses. “We will weigh the projects next time and check on their progress.”
The group plans to meet again early in the summer and also go over proper fitting techniques and offer showing demonstrations.
One of the programs presented was a program that MFA Incorporated offers that is designed to promote education and support young customers through its MFA Agri Services. It is called the 4-H and FFA Project premium program and offers incentives to students who use MFA products for their fair projects. The students who win county and state rate-of-gain or carcass contest can win even larger prizes.
